Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how eSurveyor (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our yacht-listing analysis service at esurveyor.com (“the App”).
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address
- Password (stored only as a salted hash; never in plaintext)
- Display name (optional)
- Unit preferences (imperial / metric)
User-Generated Content
- Yacht listings you import (pasted text, uploaded PDFs, listing URLs)
- Dream-boat profiles you create (preferred makes, lengths, ages, prices, must-haves)
- Activity notes, broker contact entries, and deal-stage transitions you record
- Broker question pack edits and broker portal answers
- TCO override values and offer amounts you enter
Usage Information
- Pages and features visited; buttons clicked; prompts copied
- Listings imported, parsed, compared, and saved
- Aggregate event timestamps and counts
Technical Information
- IP address
- Device type, browser, operating system
- Log data for system security and troubleshooting
- Error reports (when error-monitoring is enabled)
Payment Processing
eSurveyor is currently free. If paid plans are introduced, payments will be processed by a third-party payment processor (such as Stripe). When that occurs, your payment details (credit-card number, billing address, transaction information) will be transmitted directly to the processor and will not be stored on our servers. The processor’s privacy policy will govern that data.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected data to:
- Operate the listing-analysis features and your account
- Improve parser accuracy and analysis quality
- Detect fraud, abuse, and rate-limit violations
- Communicate service updates and respond to support requests
- Monitor service health and diagnose errors
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
Information may be shared only in the following situations:
- With cloud hosting and database providers (Supabase) to operate the service
- With AI processing services to perform listing parsing and analysis
- With email delivery providers (Resend) when you send broker emails
- With error-monitoring providers (Sentry) for diagnostic logging
- With rate-limiting providers (Upstash) to prevent abuse
- When required by law, subpoena, or other valid legal process
- To protect the security or integrity of the platform or other users
Third-party privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
4. Listing Content & Broker Communications
When you import a listing, the listing text (and any PDF you upload) is sent to our AI processing provider for parsing. We retain the parsed output and a calibration copy of the source text on our servers, subject to the retention rules below.
When you send a broker question pack via the App, the broker’s email address and the questions are transmitted to our email-delivery provider for delivery. The broker’s responses, when submitted via the broker portal, are stored in your account.
5. International Users
The service is operated from the United States and may store or process data in jurisdictions outside your residence. By using the service, you consent to such data transfers.
6. Data Retention
- Account data and your user-generated content are retained while your account is active.
- Analytics events are retained for 180 days, then automatically purged.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing support@esurveyor.com. Account deletion typically completes within 7 business days.
7. Security
Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are implemented, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level access controls, and audit logging. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Cookies & Local Storage
The App uses cookies and browser local storage to maintain your authenticated session, remember your preferences, and operate first-party analytics. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Contact support@esurveyor.com to exercise these rights.
11. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
